Tagged!

So I was tagged by Lisa, who would like me to share some personal stuff with my huge readership. As a shy person, I'm a little nervous about putting myself out there - here it goes!

Jobs I've Held:
In order as best as I can...
Baby-sitter
McDonald's - queen of the drive thru
Janitor - at my church
Summer Intern - Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation
Dorm Resident's assistant
Summer Intern - Colorado DOT
Summer Intern - Sandia, National Labs
Coop Student - Dow Chemical Company
Structural Engineer - Dow Chemical Company
Senior Civil Engineer - WIPP Site
Project Manager - Engineers Inc.

Places I've Lived: In order
Canyon, TX
Oklahoma City
Denver
Clovis, NM
Albuquerque, NM
Portales, NM
Clovis
Hobbs, NM
Los Alamos, NM
Las Cruces, NM
Tulsa, OK
Greeley, CO
Houston, TX
Richmond, TX
Houston
Carlsbad, NM
Artesia, NM
Lord willing soon... Tucumcari, NM

Movies I can Watch Over & Over:
A League of Her Own
French Kiss
The first Star Wars Trilogy
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Outlaw Josey Wales - the Indian is hilarious

My guilty pleasures:
Reading for hours on end (mostly mysteries)
Chocolate Chip cookie dough
Margaritas
Reading while standing in long lines
Reading on airplanes instead of talking to complete strangers - unless I've had a margarita, then I'm all talky, talky
Reading during my lunch breaks - before I was introduced to the blog world, now I read blogs during my lunch breaks
Reading multiple books at one time
Reading while making chocolate chip cookies - then reading while eating all the dough
Of course all of this reading took place before children, now I'm lucky to get a whole chapter in before I nod off to sleep.
Shows I enjoy:
I don't have a lot to choose from because all we have is rabbit ears - ask me why sometime
How I met Your Mother
Gray's Anatomy
House
24
Men in Trees
Places I've been on vacation:
Vacation is almost a foreign word in my life, not that I wouldn't mind vacationing, its just that there so much other stuff that has to be done on my time off... But
I've been to various New Mexico state parks to camp, fish, boat, water ski
Various Wilderness Areas in New Mexico and Southern Colorado - backpacking
The Boundary Waters in Minnesota - Canoing
Derricks, AR - my grandmother's childhood home
Various state parks in south Texas - camping and fishing
Corpus Christi, TX
Ruidoso, NM
Fort Collins, Co
Las Vegas, NM (not really on vacation, but...)
Recent years we've spent our vacation at my mother-in-laws branding calves, fixing fence, and other various assortment of ranching activities -

Favorite Foods:
French fries
Mexican food
Chocolate chip cookies
Milk - between me and my 3 year old son, we consume at least 1.5 gallons a week -
Anything my grandmother cooks - especially apricot fried pies, cherry cobbler, her fried potatoes are the greatest
My goal is to learn to cook like her without killing myself and hubby with heart disease before she passes on. I do pretty good when I have the time, which is never...

Websites I visit Daily:
Various blogs
Wells Fargo
eBay
half.com

Body Parts I've injured:
nose - broke when I was 2, as I apparently fell of my wheeled pickle
knuckle (the big one at the top of the hand, beginning the index finger) on my left hand - from my high school catcher days. My hands were too small for a catcher's mitt, so I used a regular glove for a while, then upgraded to a first- baseman's mitt.
Bruised hip and leg - trying out my clipless pedals for the first time. I thought I'd play it safe and just click in one side while standing in place - I fell on top of a tool box, the first time - the second time I moved the box and fell flat on the concrete floor - anyway...

Awards I've won:
I made the north/south all-star softball team in HS, made the top 10 list of the highest batting average in the state in HS
Dean's list in undergrad all but one semester (that one semester is Jeff's fault)
a few Athena sprint triathlon medals

Nicknames I've been called:
Suzy - only my parents, siblings and grandparents call me this - no one else is allowed
Suz
Baby
Mama

Susan - which is not really a nickname but a sign of the majority of society's inattention to detail, such as the proper pronunciation and/or spelling of one's name - I'm not sensitive about this or anything.

I'm adding a category here -
Common Phrases Uttered by other's when describing a particular personality attribute:

" Haven't been able to shut her up since she got here." Wink, wink
"Talk much?"
"You're not a big talker are you?"
"You've been so quiet, I just wanted to check and make sure you're still with us."

Tag others:
Well since the only blogging people I know have all been tagged, except my sister
I guess I'll tag her, but she's not one to respond to something like this, so don't hate me for breaking the tag chain...

Thanks for playing along!

So it seems you are a big reader.

Regarding being called Susan...

My son has a similar problem with his name, which I was reminded of today when he registered for school. Steven? Stephan? Stephen? Ste-FAN? It's Stefan (sounds like steffen).

On some days he hates us for giving him this name and making him go through that, but most of the time he's good natured about it.
